Discovering Magic

with Andrew Pinard

Monthly: Select Wednesdays

ABOUT DISCOVERING MAGIC

This “mind-numbing, jaw-dropping, eye-opening” experience takes audiences on a guided tour of the impossible and the absurd. Using only the most ordinary of objects, accomplished actor, conjuror, puppeteer, storyteller, and award-winning performer Pinard brings the ordinary to life with the most surprising results.

The only show of its kind in the New England, audiences have traveled from throughout New England and beyond to experience sleight of hand, con games, psychology, history, science, comedy, political spin, and more through the eyes of a “perceptual engineer” on his quest to explore distortion and guile. Audiences can expect a truly unique experience and insight into how remarkable human perception and interpretation can be.

Into The Breeches!

by George Brant

May 24 - June 9

Into the Breeches by George Brant, is a surprisingly modern and moving comedy about the singular way art and community reveal our boldest selves even in the darkest times.

It’s WWII and the Oberon Play House’s director and leading men are off at war with the Axis. Determined to press on, the director's wife sets out to produce an all-female version of Shakespeare's Henriad, assembling an increasingly unexpected team united in desire, if not actual theatre experience. Together they deliver a delightful celebration of collaboration and persistence when the show must go on!

NOTE: This production refers to war, yet is family friendly.

Duration is approximately 120 minutes including one intermission.

Produced by Lend Me A Theater.

Fridays & Saturdays @ 7:30pm; Sundays @ 2pm.

Cruel Intentions: The ‘90s Musical

by Lindsey Rosin, Jordan Ross, Roger Kumble

August 2 - 11

Cruel Intentions is a new musical based on the original movie which was based on the famous French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses. While the 1999 film was set in at the end of the '90s it has many of the same aspects of the original subject material. It brings us to the summer months before school is back in session and thrusts us into the world of wealthy manipulative Manhattan socialites. What makes it unique is that they are high schoolers that are playing games with their fellow classmates. The show has many themes that play into the vision. Love. Destruction. Revenge. Regret and above all consequences. The rule to this game between the pair of charmingly diabolical step siblings is to never fall in love.

NOTE: This production contains adult language, sexual themes, undertones of charged sensuality, and brief partial nudity in one scene.

Duration is approximately 90 minutes plus one intermission.

Produced by Actors Coop Theatre (ACT).

Presented by Hatbox Theatre and Manchester Community Theatre Players.

Venue: MCTP Theatre at the North End Montessori School; 698 Beech St, Manchester, NH 03104.

Fridays & Saturdays @ 7:30pm; Sundays @ 2pm.
