We had an amazing first few days in the new space.
On Friday, we picked up the keys, met with the Operations Manager of The Steeplegate Mall, had a great meeting with John Degange of Degange Sound Solutions who is helping us get our lighting and sound needs straightened out for the space (he also does video installations; be sure to check out his website), and held our “Opening the Hatbox” meeting at 7pm with over 30 folks including producers from around the state coming to see the space prior to its transformation.
On Saturday we started cleaning, organizing and building platforms for the seating. Thanks to Kevin Barrett, Matt Potter, Malik Haddadi, Doris George, Mo Demers and Kat & Halah A’wahid for all your hard work!
On Sunday, the seats were cleaned and the bulk of the main platforms were framed and assembled; just waiting for legging and tops so we can begin installing seating. Thanks to Kevin Barrett, Matt Potter, Mo Demers & Kat A’wahid, for working so hard on Sunday!
We’ll be back in the space this coming weekend (Friday through Sunday) trying to get the rest of the pieces together so we can begin assembling seating. Keep an eye here for announcements for volunteer opportunities!
